Brooklyn Beckham’s relationship with his famous parents has fractured publicly, but those close to him insist he still very much has a large family network.
The eldest Beckham kid, 26, broke his silence on the nature of his relationship with his parents this week, accusing them of being ‘controlling’ and repeatedly disrespecting his wife, Nicola Peltz, 31.
Taking to Instagram, Brooklyn wrote an 800-word statement detailing years of manipulative behaviour from Sir David Beckham, 50, and Victoria, 51.
He also declared emphatically that he does not wish to reconcile with his former footballer pro dad and fashion designer mum, despite recent swirling reports that a reunion could be on the cards.
At the centre of his life now is his wife, alongside her tight-knit family and the grandparents who played a formative role in raising him.
Here’s a look inside the people who continue to be a part of Brooklyn’s shrinking circle of loved ones.
Nicola Peltz Beckham
It’s clear Nicola Peltz Beckham has become Brooklyn’s emotional anchor amid the family fallout. The actress and director is the daughter of billionaire investor Nelson Peltz and former model Claudia Heffner Peltz, and has consistently presented a united front with her husband.
While Nicola’s large extended family hasn’t been centrally featured in coverage of the Beckham rift, her parents are clearly a significant presence in the couple’s life.
There is no public indication that Nelson or Claudia have commented directly on the feud, but Nicola’s unwavering loyalty to Brooklyn has implicitly positioned the Peltz family on the couple’s side of the divide.
During an interview with Byrdie in February 2024, Nicola said of her family: ‘Family is everything to me, and I mean that with my whole heart,’ she said.
‘I go to Florida any chance I get, and we stay at my parents’ house. It honestly makes me so happy to wake up and have my siblings around. It’s really hard to get us all in the same place because there are so many of us. When we’re all together, it’s so fun.’
Nelson and Claudia Peltz
Married in 1985, Nelson and Claudia Peltz went on to build a large family of eight children: Matthew, Will, Brad, Brittany, Diesel, Nicola, Zachary and Gregory.
Nicola, born on January 9, 1995, is the third youngest.
Nicola has previously shared how hard she had to fight to pursue acting, recalling that her parents initially wanted her to focus on ice hockey before she convinced them to support her creative ambitions, a story that highlights both their protectiveness.
Nicola has also spoken openly about how much she admires her parents’ long marriage. In an interview, she said: ‘Anyone who has been married for a long time, it’s such a beautiful thing. My parents, their love inspires me every day. It sounds cheesy, but that’s how I feel.’
Her mother, Claudia Heffner Peltz is a former fashion model.
She was a prominent face in editorial and advertising work in the 70s, modelling for brands including L’Oreal, Calvin Klein, Chanel, and Revlon.
She also co-founded the Nelson and Claudia Peltz Family Foundation with her husband.
Nelson – a multi-billionaire – co-founded Trian Fund Management and has previously held seats on the board of directors of H.J. Heinz Company and Mondelēz International, Inc., per Sysco.
Nelson also served as the non-executive chairman of Wendy’s from 2007 to 2024, according to CNBC.
In addition to Wendy’s, the billionaire has served as the director of Madison Square Garden Sports Corp since 2015 and Unilever PLC since 2022.
The Peltz siblings
Nicola’s siblings span business, tech, sport and the arts, which very much offers Brooklyn an entirely different family ecosystem from the celebrity dynasty he grew up in.
- Matthew Peltz, the eldest, is Yale-educated, works at his father’s investment firm Trian Fund Management and serves as non-executive vice chairman of Wendy’s.
- Will Peltz, Nicola’s older brother, is also an actor and model, with film credits including Sierra Burgess Is a Loser, In Time and Unfriended.
- Brad Peltz, once a professional ice hockey player for the Ottawa Senators, later founded the automated scheduling platform Mymo.
- Diesel Peltz is a tech entrepreneur and co-founder of location-tracking app Twenty and health-tech platform Healthy Together.
- Brittany Peltz, Nicola’s older sister, attended NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and now runs interior design studio SENA Lifestyle Studio. She shares four children with her husband, Franz-Ferdinand Buerstedde.
- Zachary and Gregory Peltz, Nicola’s younger twin brothers, are ice hockey players.
Jackie and Tony Adams
Jackie Adams and Tony Adams — the parents of Victoria Beckham — were a major presence in Brooklyn’s childhood.
Growing up, he reportedly spent nearly as much time with his grandparents as he did with his parents, particularly during periods when David and Victoria were working.
Despite the current breakdown in Brooklyn’s relationship with his parents, those close to him say his affection for his grandparents has never wavered.
One friend explained told MailOnline: ‘While things between him and his parents are over, Brooklyn is still very fond of his grandparents. There is a lot of love for them, and that has never faltered.’
However, sources say even this bond has been tested by distance, with Jackie learning about Brooklyn and Nicola’s vow renewal only after seeing photos online.
Sandra and Ted Beckham
Sandra Beckham and her late husband Ted Beckham also played a hands-on role in Brooklyn’s upbringing.
Like Jackie Adams, Sandra was heavily involved in raising Brooklyn while his parents’ careers took them around the world.
Brooklyn publicly referenced his grandmother Sandra in his statement about the family fallout, revealing that he and Nicola wanted her seated at their wedding table alongside Nicola’s late grandmother because both women had lost their husbands.
According to Brooklyn, this decision caused conflict with his parents.
Sources say Brooklyn ‘adores’ Sandra and Jackie alike, but that even these cherished relationships have suffered from the widening rift, though they remain intact.
