Jesy Nelson has had a series of high-profile relationships since rising to fame with Little Mix in 2011.
But sadly, her engagement to musician Zion Foster has now reportedly come to an end, leaving the Boyz hitmaker ‘devastated’ after they welcomed twin daughters together last May.
Zion, 26, popped the question to the former girlband star, 34, in September, with Jesy sharing a glimpse of her dazzling ring on social media, declaring her fiancé her ‘best friend’.
However, it’s been a turbulent year already for the pair, whose baby girls, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe, have been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1. This is a severe muscular disease, meaning its unlikely the little ones will ever walk.
As Jesy commits to raising awareness of the lesser-known condition, it’s believed to have taken a toll on her relationship.
Here’s a look back at her dating history, including with one celebrity who has continued championing her long after their split.
Jordan Banjo – 2012
Shortly after rising to stardom, the Wings hitmaker struck up a romance with Britain’s Got Talent winner Jordan Banjo of dance troupe Diversity, with whom she was childhood friends.
The talent show champions dated for 10 months before calling it quits due to busy schedules and Jordan repeatedly being unable to cope with her fame.
‘Jesy’s become a lot more famous than Jordan, and he found it difficult to cope with the amount of male attention she was getting, so they both agreed it was best that they call it a day,’ a source told The Mirror at the time.
However, they have remained on good terms, with Jordan praising Jesy after she released a mental health documentary in 2019, discussing the pressures of fame and how life in a band affected her.
Following the premiere of Odd One Out on BBC, in which Jesy bravely spoke about her suicide attempt, Jordan appeared on Lorraine, during which he said: ‘I think it’s something that, again, is hard for someone in Jesy’s situation, because where she’s been so successful, she’s done so much, people’s initial reaction is to go, “Well, if you wanna do that, you have to expect it.”
‘It’s like, it doesn’t work like that. People get on a phone, or they get on a keyboard.
‘Just imagine you could walk up to anyone in the street and say things that you say online. It’s just weird; it’s disconnected, and people think they can say what they want.’
Jake Roche – 2014
From 2014 to 2016, Jesy dated Rixton boyband member Jake Roche, whose famous parents are Loose Women’s Coleen Nolan and EastEnders actor Shane Richie.
They met at Capital FM’s Summertime Ball, where they bonded over their passion for music.
As one thing led to another, Jake told the Daily Star in November that year: ‘Yes, it is serious, and yes, it is love. It’s a proper relationship; we’ve both met the families, and everything is going really well.
‘Jesy and my mum are really close, which is a massively important thing for me.’
In July 2015, Jake popped the question in arguably the most romantic setting.
Getting up on stage in front of thousands, he enlisted friend Ed Sheeran to make the moment special.
Jesy was later spotted flashing a sparkling ring, with Jesy’s ex-bandmate Perrie Edwards saying of their romance: ‘I’ve never seen anything like it when they’re together.’
Unfortunately, they never made it down the aisle, as the couple split after rumours of rows.
Allegedly, Jesy was keen to start a family, but Jake, who was 24 at the time, didn’t feel ready.
Bradley Churchill – 2016
Jesy is said to have had a brief fling with Bradley Churchill in 2016.
While neither ever publicly confirmed as such, Bradley, who is a pal of Perrie’s man Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, was photographed on a trip to Paris with Little Mix.
Chris Clark – 2017
In 2017, Jesy was loved up with Towie’s Chris Clark.
However, things quickly turned sour, and their breakup was messy, with Jesy ‘blindsided’ when he dumped her over the phone.
He is said to have made it clear he had no intention of reconciling, getting back with co-star Amber Dowding shortly after.
Chris had claimed he felt second best to Jesy, who was more successful than him.
Harry James – 2017
Picking herself back up after Chris’s cruel dumping, Jesy began dating Harry James.
They were together for a year and made things pretty public, even walking the Brit Awards red carpet together and sharing snaps from tropical getaways.
But fans knew it was over when Jesy wiped all traces of him from her Instagram feed in 2018, suggesting a quiet breakup.
In August 2021, the exes were spotted hanging out again on a shopping trip, fuelling speculation that they were back on.
But this turned out not to be the case, as it was confirmed that they were just friends.
Chris Hughes – 2019
In perhaps her most notable public relationship, Jesy dated Love Island’s Chris Hughes from January 2019 to April 2020.
They’d moved in together by summer and were spending lots of time together, with fans keen to give Chris their stamp of approval.
In fact, the reality star had even envisioned marrying Jesy and having children with her, while she declared him her ‘future husband’ on socials.
Despite the future looking promising, though, their romantic relationship came to an end as they were isolating separately during the Covid-19 pandemic.
But out of all of Jesy’s exes, Chris has remained the most public in his support of her.
The Celebrity Big Brother housemate, who is now dating JoJo Siwa, commented sweetly under her 2025 pregnancy announcement post: ‘Go on girl’, followed by a white heart and baby emoji.
And after her twins received their SMA diagnosis, he penned underneath her video: ‘A warrior Jess. Be easy on yourself. Sending prayers to you all, everyone behind you guys.’
Following Jesy’s interview on This Morning shortly after, he reposted a clip, adding: ‘Heartbreaking, what an amazing human [sad emoji, red heart emoji]’.
Sean Sagar – 2020
Before she got with Zion, Jesy dated Our Girl actor Sean Sagar.
A few months after she split from Chris, they were linked, soon making things official with social media snaps.
It’s believed they parted ways in March 2021, with fans spotting they had unfollowed one another.
Zion Foster – 2022
Jesy began dating latest partner Zion in 2022, and they’ve been on and off a few times but always found their way back to each other.
After a short split, they confirmed last September that they were engaged, publicly expressing their love, with Zion praising Jesy throughout her difficult pregnancy, most of which she spent hospitalised.
And when Zion ran the London Marathon last year, Jesy wrote:’I honestly didn’t think I could love you any more than I already do @zionfoster but you have made me and our babies the proudest!!!!’
Now, though, the singer is no longer wearing her ring, with a source telling The Sun that they are remaining ‘fully focused on their daughters’.
‘They are fully united in co-parenting. Their priority continues to be the well-being of their daughters.’
A second insider added to Metro: ‘Jesy is devastated over her split from Zion and is already going through a lot with Ocean and Story’s SMA diagnosis.
‘Who knows what the future holds for them as a couple, but their priority will always be giving their daughters the care they need and deserve.’
