Piers Morgan has several properties to his name, having built up a mighty net worth (said to be £20million) thanks to his broadcasting career.

But as he recovers from a recent fall and hip surgery, it’s his London abode where he’ll be spending most of his time.

Over the weekend, the Uncensored host, 60, shared a selfie from his hospital bed, surrounded by wires but still managing a thumbs up after taking a nasty tumble.

Piers revealed that he tripped over a step at a hotel restaurant in the capital, sending him down ‘like a sack of spuds’.

He needs a hip replacement and has also fractured the neck of his femur (thigh bone), meaning he’ll be on crutches for six weeks and can’t fly anywhere long-haul – aka Stateside – for three months.

On the bright side, Piers has a lavish home to retreat to as he recuperates, having purchased a £4m Kensington pad from his father-in-law and former Tory MP George Walden in 2009.

The Georgian townhouse boasts five bedrooms and is where Piers lives with his wife of 15 years, Celia Walden, and their teenage daughter, Elise.

Situated on a tree-lined street, it has a private balcony, huge stained glass windows, and a grand staircase.

Furnishings-wise, the property has wooden flooring, patterned rugs, striped armchairs, and cosy cream sofas.

The former Good Morning Britain host has rather quirky tastes when it comes to homeware, as he displays various one-of-a-kind knick-knacks and art pieces.

Piers also has plenty of reading to keep him busy as he heals from his operation, with countless books lining floor-to-ceiling shelves in several rooms.

And something tells us he’ll be escaping to his ‘man cave’ when possible, which is a spherical pod out in his modest garden.

With a wooden tile exterior and fitted with a circular window, it certainly catches your eye amid all his other traditional decor.

The pod was designed by Chris Sneesby, who calls himself The Podfather and who specialises in creating the unconventional working spaces.

Called an Archipod, as per the designer’s website, they are made to ‘complement a garden landscape’ but still be ‘efficient, ergonomic to use, and a little bit different’ from your standard shed.

While prices vary depending on size, the one Piers has in his home is likely to have set him back between £17,000 and £22,000.

Inside his, Piers has a built-in walnut desk and shelves, making it the perfect work-from-home space.

As for Piers and Celia’s other homes, when they wish to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, they can head to their £700k residence in Newick, East Sussex.

And while a trip across the pond is out of the question for a while, once his injuries heal, Piers will undoubtedly be itching to get back to his Hollywood mansion.

Piers is the proud owner of a £4.2m Beverly Hills five-bed, five-bathroom property, which, as expected, also has a sprawling outdoor pool, a fully stocked indoor bar, and even a designated room for staff.

Alas, there’ll be no swimming for Piers for a while, who is currently still hospitalised.

Taking to social media this morning, he shared a glimpse of what looked to be a private suite.

Lying in bed and reading about his ordeal in the newspaper, he tuned into his former co-stars Ed Balls and Susanna Reid on GMB.

‘I think you guys are missing the really big news today @susannareid100 @edballs @gmb !’, his caption joked, to which Susanna replied in the comments: ‘Oh don’t worry – you got a special mention!’

‘Dont worry it was all mentioned and lots of love sent!! Hope things are getting slightly better xx’, echoed Kate Garraway.

The background of the pic showed a lamp, a sofa, and a bouquet, suggesting that the TV presenter is being well looked after while he’s out of action.
