Cinderella On Ice captivates audiences at the Royal Opera House Muscat

Muscat – Cinderella on Ice delighted audiences at the Royal Opera House Muscat over three evening performances on 1, 2 January and a matinee on 3 January, presenting a refined family production that combined figure skating with classical storytelling. The well-known fairytale was brought to life through carefully choreographed skating, elegant costumes, and a musical score that supported the narrative with clarity and warmth.

The production attracted families and visitors of all ages, offering an accessible cultural experience that balanced theatrical tradition with the artistry of ice performance. Audiences followed Cinderella’s journey from hardship to happiness, conveyed through expressive movement and visual design that transformed the stage into a winter setting. The performances were met with strong attendance and positive responses, reinforcing the appeal of family focused productions at the opera house.

Commenting on the success of the event, Umberto Fanni, Director General, said, “Cinderella on Ice demonstrated how classical stories can be presented in fresh and engaging ways while remaining respectful of their original spirit. It was rewarding to see audiences of all generations sharing this experience together.”

Cinderella on Ice marked an engaging start to the new year at the Opera House, reflecting the breadth of events on offer and the venue’s commitment to accessible and enriching cultural experiences. The production set the tone for the season ahead, which includes opera, classical concerts, Arabic music performances, and a wide range of educational programmes for children and families, inviting audiences to continue exploring the diverse artistic programme throughout the year.
