A 90s thriller with a plot twist fans have dubbed the ‘greatest in cinema history’ is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.

Directed by Bryan Singer, the film features an all-star cast in Benicio del Toro, Gabriel Byrne, Pete Postlethwaite, and Kevin Spacey – alongside future Breaking Bad star Giancarlo Esposito.

Spacey stars as small-time conman Roger ‘Verbal’ Kint, the survivor of a massacre and fire on a ship docked in Los Angeles.

As he’s interrogated by the police, Kint reveals what led him and his compatriots to be aboard the boat – telling tales of elusive crime lord Keyser Söze.

Now 30 years on from its release, The Usual Suspects has gone down as one of the greatest crime thrillers of all time.

It is currently available to stream on Amazon Prime, where viewers have been able to experience its mind-blowing twist all over again.

This comes accompanied by that twist, which X user thehopczar said ‘still blows minds,’ adding: ‘The lineup. Verbal Kint. Keyser Söze. That ending. One of the best twists in cinema history. Who’s seen it recently?’

JavierM787 agreed with this summary of the film’s ending, asking (and answering): ‘Greatest twist in Cinema history? Perhaps.’

This reaction contributes to a near-perfect 96% positive Popcornmeter score on Rotten Tomatoes, garnered from over 250,000 audience ratings.

The film kickstarted the career of future X-Men and Bohemian Rhapsody director Bryan Singer, while also netting Spacey an Oscar for his portrayal of Kint.

While subsequent scandals have led to the decline of both Singer’s and Spacey’s standing in Hollywood, the film remains one of the most influential crime thrillers ever made.

Its many contributions to popular culture include the quote ‘The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist,’ uttered by Kint during the film’s shocking climax.

The film also features a performance from the late Peter Greene, who died last year at the age of 60.

A veteran actor, who also appeared in Pulp Fiction and The Mask, Greene played a contact of the criminals named Redfoot the Fence.

Appearing in one of the film’s smaller roles, Redfoot nevertheless played a pivotal part in its climax, becoming the key to unlocking what’s really going on.

The Usual Suspects is streaming now on Amazon Prime Video.
