Muscat – H E Sayyid Badr al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, held a series of telephone talks with counterparts from France, Germany, Türkiye and Russia in the past few days, focusing on rising regional tensions and the need to prioritise diplomacy and de-escalation.
In a call on Saturday with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, the ministers exchanged views on regional developments, including the Iranian nuclear issue. They stressed the importance of supporting ways to de-escalate and a return to negotiations to reach balanced solutions that safeguard the rights of all parties and preserve regional security.

On January 16, H E Busaidi spoke with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul on current regional and international developments. Both sides underscored the need to adhere to peaceful and diplomatic approaches to maintain stability and agreed to continue coordination in regional and international efforts.
H E Busaidi held talks the same day with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, reviewing bilateral relations and their positive trajectory. The ministers reaffirmed support for dialogue as a fundamental approach to easing tensions.
In a separate call, H E Busaidi discussed regional developments with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. The two reviewed bilateral cooperation and agreed to continue political consultation and coordination in support of dialogue and peaceful solutions to contain tensions.
The discussions come amid heightened concern over developments related to Iran, as Oman continues to promote dialogue and diplomacy as key tools to safeguard regional stability.
