The upcoming Saudi Arabia Darts Masters is going to feature a huge financial prize for a nine-darter and an even bigger bonus for 10 perfect darts.

The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) lands in Saudi Arabia for the first time next week, with the event in Riyadh’s Global Theater in Boulevard City.

The likes of world champion Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, Gian van Veen, Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price will all be involved.

They will all have the chance to land an enormous prize for a perfect leg and then the opportunity to double their winnings with a 10th perfect arrow.

$100,000 (£75,000) will be on offer for a nine-darter, with anyone managing that then given a dart at the bullseye for the chance to double their money to $200,000 (£150,000).

It has been labelled the ‘Riyadh Season Bullseye challenge’ and is reminiscent of snooker’s golden ball 167 which has been on offer at the Riyadh Season Snooker Championship.

Saudi sporting power-broker Turki Alalshikh posted on X: ‘The biggest Nine Dart Prize in history is recorded at the Saudi Arabia Darts Masters, marking a new step in the journey of global championships with chance to win $200,000.’

A statement read: ‘Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) has announced the introduction of the biggest prize in darts history for a nine-darter, to be awarded during the Saudi Arabia Darts Masters 2026, held as part of Riyadh Season. The prize will reach $200,000 if the perfect leg is achieved during the tournament.

‘The tournament will take place from January 19-20 at the Global Theater in Boulevard City, featuring a world-class line-up of the sport’s biggest names. The competition will see eight Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) stars go head-to-head with eight leading Asian representatives in globally televised matches and a highly competitive race for the title.

‘Any player who lands a nine-darter during the Saudi Arabia Darts Masters will receive a $100,000 bonus, with the opportunity to double it to $200,000 through the Riyadh Season Bullseye challenge. The player will be awarded one darts at the bullseye to secure the doubled prize, in what is considered the largest nine-darter prize in history.’

The Riyadh Season Bullseye challenge will be on offer next week

It will be a unique occasion if a player gets a shot at the bullseye for another £75,000, although in snooker the big-money drama has not really materialised.

In three editions of the Riyadh Season Snooker Championship, no one has had a shot at the golden ball, which is only available to pot after a 147 has been made and is worth $1m.

In the first edition of the event John Higgins got to 120 before running out of position on the yellow, but no one has got closer.

Gerwyn Price told Oche180 of the prize: ‘It’ll be great. Once you hit a nine-darter then you get another opportunity to win another $100,000 on top.

‘But I’m sure they get a million in snooker, so I think they need to up it a bit.’
