EastEnders spoilers follow for Wednesday’s (January 14) episode which is now available to stream on BBC iPlayer.

Feeling guilty over his son’s recent hospitalisation, Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) self-harmed in EastEnders.

Earlier this week, the former restaurateur was horrified to discover that Davinder ‘Nugget’ Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) had been rushed into surgery, but the bigger shock came later when he pieced together what had happened the night before.

He had been spiked by Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington), who sought revenge over what he’d put her son Harry (Elijah Hollway) through last year.

As fans will recall, Harry’s whole world was turned upside down when Ravi ordered him to sell drugs, using his and Kojo Asare’s (Dayo Koleosho) flat as a base of operations.

The situation escalated further when Okie (Aayan Ibikunle Shoderu) arrived on the scene, taking over the operation when Ravi cut ties. Despite Ravi’s request to let Harry go, Okie refrained from doing so, keeping the mechanic chained to a wall in the flat and getting him hooked on drugs.

Harry later escaped with Kojo, but a subsequent brawl resulted in Okie losing his life. Determined to spare son Harry any more upset, Teddy (Roland Manookian) took the fall for the crime and thus was sentenced to life imprisonment.

After returning from rehab, Harry made it his mission to get revenge on Ravi, with Nicola taking charge as she spiked him. While under the influence of the drugs, Ravi hallucinated dead dad Nish (Navin Chowdhry) and proceeding to attack the patriarch, unaware that he was actually hurting his own son Nugget, who was out looking for him.

Putting two and two together, Ravi headed over to No.1 to seek violent revenge on Nicola and Harry with a baseball bat. Harry and Nicola confirmed their role in his spiking but reiterated that they would never hurt Nugget.

Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) arrived in the nick of time to stop Ravi from attacking Harry with the weapon.

Ravi struggled to wrap his head around everything, consumed with guilt over his actions. Priya offered support, stating that what happened to Nugget was not his fault.
