Brazilian makes history as first openly gay man to compete at Australian Open

Joao Lucas Reis Da Silva’s game went to a new level in 2025 after he came out by posting on social media to mark his boyfriend’s birthday. His improved ranking allowed him to become the first openly gay man to compete at the Australian Open.
