Thirupparankundram row: when politics invades a syncretic hill town

In Thirupparankundram in Madurai, Hindus and Muslims live in camaraderie, but that has not kept the hill, which holds a couple of temples, a dargah, and some Jain beds, out of dispute. Here, we outline the history of judgments by different petitioners through the years, in an attempt to understand the current crisis.
