Liam Rosenior takes charge of his first match as Chelsea head coach against Charlton at the Valley this evening.

Following the shock departure of Enzo Maresca on New Year’s Day, Rosenior has signed a six-year at Stamford Bridge with the Blues fans to get their first glimpse of how the team will take shape under his guidance today.

Rather handily for the new man in charge, he has almost a fully-fit squad to choose from.

With the exception of long-term absentee Levi Colwill with Dario Essugo and Romeo Lavia still working their way back, Rosenior has no other injury absences to contend with.

Marc Cucurella however became the latest Chelsea player to be shown a straight red card midweek against Fulham with that suspension carried over to the FA Cup, meaning he will not be available today.

Jorell Hato could deputise at left-back in the Spaniard’s place.

Liam Delap was among those to play the full 90 minutes against Fulham, scoring his first league goal in the process.

Chelsea XI to face Charlton – Metro prediction

While Rosenior will be seeking to immediately leave his print on the team, it is a chance to rotate and rest following games against Manchester City and Fulham with a huge Carabao Cup semi-final first leg clash following next week.

That game at Stamford Bridge next Wednesday is more likely to give us an idea of what Rosenior’s first choice XI looks like.

Robert Sanchez, Moises Caicedo, Reece James and Pedro Neto could be among those rested this evening.

Cole Palmer is till getting back to full fitness following his lay-off so could start.
