Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) is consumed with worrying following the discovery about his dad Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) in Emmerdale.
Paddy’s dad Bear disappeared last summer after telling his family that he was off to see his friend in Ireland. At the time, Bear’s relationship with Paddy was incredibly strained, so he felt as though leaving was best for them both.
What Bear failed to reveal to anyone is that his plan with his mate fell through. He left the village anyway, convinced he wasn’t welcome at Tenants anymore.
Bear spent a few weeks living in his car, but was then found by Ray Walters (Joe Absolom), who took him to Celia Daniels’ (Jaye Griffiths) farm. The duo told Bear that in exchanged for work, he’d get fed, watered, and would be able to live with a roof over his head.
Through abuse and manipulation, Celia and Ray successfully convinced Bear that his loved ones in the village no longer wanted anything to do with him. On a number of occasions, Bear was faced with the prospect of leaving, but chose to stay because he believed Celia and Ray were looking out for him.
Everything changed for the slaves on the farm last week, when Ray stabbed and killed his mum. A couple of days later, someone else murdered Ray, leaving the victims completely alone.
DS Walsh and her team are continuing to compile evidence against Celia and Ray, and headed to the farm in tonight’s episode following news about Bear being one of the victims.
Afterwards, Walsh visited Paddy and told him that the attic and farmland is completely empty. She suggested that the victims have ran away, leaving Paddy even more worried.
An important thing to note here is that last week, before she was killed by Ray, Celia told him that she took pleasure in murdering Bear. After killing his mum, Ray went to the attic and saw Bear laying lifelessly on his bed.
It was safe to assume in that moment that Celia had indeed murdered the beloved character, but Walsh’s news about the farm being empty means Ray moved Bear’s body at some point after killing Celia, or he actually is alive.
