Coronation Street fans have been baffled by newcomer Jodie (Olivia Frances-Brown) ever since she was first listed on the Corriedale cast list just before Christmas.
Her first appearance was no less mysterious, as viewers saw her tied up in the back of Emmerdale villain Graham Foster’s (Andrew Scarborough) van, with no explanation as to how she got there, or why.
We got the tiniest hint when Jodie managed to escape the van and run off into the woods, only to be found by Kit Green (Jacob Roberts).
Still clearly traumatised, Jodie tried to hide her face with her hands, which is when we saw a unique tattoo.
Although not that unique, it would transpire, as Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) has exactly the same one on her back.
In the aftermath of the multi-vehicle pile-up that led to the death of Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) and pushed Shona into early labour, Jodie was also taken to hospital, where her behaviour seemed to hint that she was related to Shona in some way.
As David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) wheeled Shona down the corridor ahead of her transfer to Weatherfield General, Jodie spotted them and, in the words of the doctor, looked like she’d seen a ghost.
Tonight, it was revealed that Jodie had followed the parents-to-be across the Pennines to Weathey General. When she spotted David leaving, she rushed into Shona’s room – but not before stealing a plush rabbit toy from someone else’s gift bag!
Once alone in Shona’s room, Jodie left her the rabbit, before going through her hospital bag. Fear not, though, she didn’t steal anything, just sniffed Shona’s dressing gown, which, if they really are strangers, is a bit weird.
Fortunately, our questions were answered at the end of the episode, after Shona had successfully delivered a baby girl called Harper.
As Jodie watched them through the window, a man passing by asked if she was the proud mum.

Given that she and Shona have matching tattoos, it’s safe to assume that she is her sister – unless Gail has another secret child no one’s told us about!
Fans have already picked up on the resemblance between Jodie and Shona, and the fact that Shona had previously mentioned having a sister.
At least that’s answered one of our questions surrounding Jodie, but there is still a lot to uncover…
