Police are today searching for a man believed to be armed with a gun in the mid-west region of Western Australia, about 400km north-west of Perth.
Kenneth John Giles, 58, was yesterday involved in an altercation with a woman known to him at a property 24km north of the town of Mullewa, when a firearm was fired about 5.30pm.
Police issued a public safety alert and believe Giles fled in a white Nissan Patrol ute with the registration 1BIY 336.

The woman received a gunshot wound to her arm and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police confirmed the dog unit, tactical response group and air wing have been deployed to find Giles.
"Any incident that where firearms are involved is a concern for us, and we take them extremely seriously and commit all the resources to our that we have at our disposal to resolving them," said Acting Inspector Tom Micklewright.
Authorities are asking people across WA to look out for Giles or his vehicle, and to call triple zero if they spot him.
