The Oporoza House has lauded High Chief (Dr.) Government Oweizide Ekpomupolo, also known as Tompolo, Tuntereowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, for his contributions to protecting oil facilities, promoting environmental remediation, and fostering economic revival in the Niger Delta.
In a statement signed by Elder Timi Kaizer Ogoriba, Leader, and Ambah Binaebi, Secretary, the group commended Ekpomupolo’s initiative in establishing Tantita Security Services, which has become a model for safeguarding oil installations and supporting community development.
The statement highlighted the positive impacts of the initiative, including the employment of Niger Delta youths, financial empowerment of families, and extensive community outreach programs, particularly during the yuletide season.
Oporoza House also called for true federalism, arguing that granting states full control over their resources would ensure peace and prosperity in the oil-rich Niger Delta.
The statement read in part:
“The leadership and members of Oporoza House, on behalf of the entire Niger Delta and the Izon Nation, felicitate with High Chief Ekpomupolo for using Tantita Security Services to set a benchmark in oil facility protection, environmental remediation, and national economic revival. The engagement of Niger Delta youths has empowered families and strengthened communities. As we reflect on this model, we urge the practice of true federalism, which will guarantee peace and resource ownership for the region.”
The group also encouraged synergy among oil facility protection bodies in the Niger Delta to develop a uniform protection model for future application under true federalism.
Additionally, Oporoza House congratulated High Chief Dr. Dennis Burutu Otuaru for stabilizing the Presidential Amnesty Programme and reducing restiveness in the region.
The organization concluded by wishing Ekpomupolo a peaceful, productive, and triumphant 2026, expressing optimism for continued progress in the Niger Delta.
