The Bafta-winning drama – co-created by Mickey Down & Konrad Kay – first aired in 2020 and has slowly cultivated a devout following over the years as it broke into the mainstream.

The series follows a group of young and ambitious graduates working at a highly competitive investment bank, Pierpoint & Co, as they navigate the world of extreme wealth and power.

Sexy, cutthroat and bingable from start to finish, Industry stars Marisa Abela, Kit Harington, Myha’la, David Jonsson, Harry Lawtey and Ken Leung, with Stranger Things star Charlie Heaton joining the ensemble for the upcoming season.

Ahead of season four, which drops at the start of next week, early reviews have secured the show an impressive 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, proving not only its popularity, but also its calibre is improving year on year.

‘From start to finish, one of the best shows on TV. It has a fantastic cast, amazing soundtrack. It’s like a cross between Euphoria and Succession,’ an anonymous user praised on Rotten Tomatoes.

‘Wonderful, captivating, suspenseful drama that put me right back into my intern and first year at work. Beautiful character development and tension built so high I just about lost it,’ another added.

‘It’s a fascinating look inside their world of greed, sex, drugs, back stabbing and every other bad thing these people do to each other.

‘You don’t have to know much about this world to enjoy the show, I think most people watching don’t and that’s a testament to how good the writing is,’ Rob 1331 pointed out on IMDb.

Bujanpablode described it as ‘a sharp, addictive dive into the high-stakes world of finance’ and Ozofriendly declared it ‘deliciously dark and cynical’.

As for the widespread praise for the upcoming season, The Guardian declared that ‘season four is even better, truly top-tier television that’s surely destined for end-of-year lists, a serious feat when we’re barely a week into January.’

‘Fans thought that season 3 was peak television, but season 4 went even bigger, with a bigger cast, more sex, more tension, and more of pretty much everything fans love about the show,’ Fandomwire promises.

‘Industry may share similarities with previous HBO dramas, but it’s evolved into a definitive show of the moment,’ Collider echoed.

Teasing what to expect, Mickey and Konrad told BBC fans to expect a ‘broader scope. Higher stakes. Deeper, more intricate storytelling. More entertainment. Darker. Funnier.’

They concluded: ‘The core themes of this season are who owns the truth, the intersection of identity, storytelling and entrepreneurship, and the interdependence of fascism and capitalism.’

Industry seasons one to three are streaming on BBC iPlayer. The fourth season premieres on Monday, January 12.
