As Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) continues his fruitless search for dad Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards), the village rallies around him in support.
The deaths of Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) and Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) have far from resolved the horrors they bestowed on the village. Though April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) and Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) are now free, the carnage continues from beyond Ray and Celia’s graves.
Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) is now facing a nightmare worse than anything she’s faced before as she is seemingly being framed for their crimes. And there remains the mystery of missing Bear, who was being kept as a slave by Celia and her gang since he went missing last summer.
But there’s was a twist in the Bear tale as it appears while Paddy still searches for his dad, Celia already revealed Bear’s fate.
In a spiteful final move before her own demise, Celia told Ray that she had killed Bear, watching him writhe in agony and gasp for breath as he died. While we didn’t see Bear’s dead body, Ray appeared to gaze forlornly over his body with his bandaged hand in view.
Meanwhile, back in the village, Paddy continues to search for his dad, but he is starting to feel it is futile. He’s desperate for news, and the family try to bolster him with hope, but his own hope is waning with no signs of his father.
As everyone pulls out the stops to support Paddy, Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) steps in as a shoulder to cry on and support for the vet. But the café owner is left utterly mortified when all he does is make things worse – his words leave Paddy in a bad way.
Paddy is distraught and heads home to be comforted by Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry), Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock), and Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson), before Jai is carted off for his round of questioning.
A fresh fire is lit under Paddy and he isn’t ready to give up just yet. The next day he heads off to search with Dylan as Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick), Sam Dingle (James Hooton), and Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) arrive to offer support.
They discuss the entire bonkers turn of events, including Jai being taken in for questioning and what this means in relation to Ray’s death and the gossip mongering starts as they begin to wonder, did Jai kill Ray in a jealous rage over Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy)? The evidence seems to point that way to the villagers.
But will Paddy’s search bring him to learn the dark truth about what happened to his dad?
