Manhunt after Sydney man kidnapped, stabbed, left tied up in car

A manhunt is under way after a man was left seriously injured in a brutal kidnapping in Sydney's west.

Authorities were called to a car park on Woodville Road in Villawood about 6.50am today and arrived to find a 29-year-old man with stab wounds in the back of a Toyota sedan.

Police will allege the man was taken from Military Road in Guilford yesterday afternoon, and stabbed, burnt and beaten over the course of 12 hours.

He was then tied up and put in the back of the Camry.

A woman who heard the man's screams found him and called triple zero.

He was put on a stretcher and taken to hospital in a serious condition, but he has since stabilised.

The offenders still have not been located 

A crime scene has been established and an investigation is ongoing.

The Camry has been taken for forensic testing. Police are investigating whether the incident is linked to Sydney's underworld.
