Two dead including teenager after quad bike crash in Tasmania

Two people, including a 15-year-old girl, have died after a quad bike collided with a ute in Tasmania's west yesterday.

Police were called to the Murchison Highway between Rosebery and Zeehan at about 4.30pm after a crash between a red Honda ATV quad bike and a white Mitsubishi Triton.

Both people on the quad bike, a teenage girl from interstate and a 38-year-old man from Rosebery, died at the scene, despite assistance from interstate tourists.

The 40-year-old man who was driving the ute was uninjured and will be subject to mandatory drug and alcohol testing.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash, and anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
