Yankuba Minteh is in contention to feature in Brighton’s Premier League match against Burnley on Saturday.
The 21-year-old was forced off in the second half of Brighton’s 2-2 draw with West Ham on Tuesday night with a suspected thigh injury.
Minteh had a scan after the draw at the London Stadium but speaking on Friday, Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler revealed that the winger will train ahead of his side’s game at home to Burnley.
‘The scan is fine,’ Hurzeler said.
‘It was just a dead leg so let’s see how training goes today and we’ll see if he can start or not.’
Hurzeler also revealed that Danny Welbeck, who scored and missed a penalty against West Ham, and James Milner are also available for Burnley’s visit to the Amex Stadium this weekend.
‘Mats Wieffer had a small issue with his toe so he won’t be available but I hope it’s not a big issue,’ said Hurzeler.
‘I think nothing changed really [with the rest of the squad]. Milly [Milner], Danny Welbeck, they both looked fine after the game so I think we will have the same selection again.’
Hurzeler also hailed Pascal Gross, who is set to complete his return to Brighton in a £1.3 million deal from Borussia Dortmund.
‘Let’s see, he’s not our player, he’s a player from Borussia Dortmund and I can’t say anything about that,’ Hurzeler said.
‘I definitely like him as a player, I think also when he was gone, I always had contact to him because we knew each other before.
‘We tried that he stayed here, but he wanted to follow his dream. So we respected them and, of course, then you continue to follow the players who did great things for the club. I was personally in exchange with him. We rate him highly.

‘I think he is a quality player, like he has a big impact on scoring goals and creating chances.
‘But I think it’s also important to emphasise, although he was gone, we had good replacements.
‘We had players who stepped up. We had the young players who took their chance and therefore, I think we missed the quality player but, in the end, we were able to replace him with young players.’
