Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) emerged from rehab this week in EastEnders and made his way home, clean from the drug addiction that’s plagued him since he was held captive and tortured by Okie Okyere (Aayan Ibikunle Shoderu).
What should’ve been a warm, family homecoming was notably lacking, with Harry’s dad, Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian) locked up after taking the fall for Okie’s killing, a crime that Harry himself committed.
Also missing was younger brother Barney Mitchell (Lewis Bridgeman), who’s inability to deal with the sheer chaos at home drove him to move in with biological dad, Zack Hudson (James Farrar).
One person Harry clapped his eyes on after returning, though, was Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara), the man he holds responsible for all of the pain he’s been put through, and for the abject destruction of his life. It was Ravi who ensnared him within his burgeoning crime ring, forcing him to deal drugs while cuckoo’ing Harry’s best friend, Kojo Asare (Dayo Koleosho). Attempting to save Kojo saw Ravi and Okie locking Harry in their trap house, where Okie continually fed him drugs, leading to his addiction.
Seeing Ravi return home and being warmly greeted by his kids, Avani (Aaliyah James) and Nugget (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) and his girlfriend, Priya (Sophie Khan Levy) did little but fan the flames of hatred in Harry.
While Kojo advised Harry to let things go in regards to Ravi, his temper flared yet again later. After asking Barney to return home and being rejected, seeing Ravi saunter out of the café, seemingly without a care in the world enraged Harry, who spat venom in Ravi’s direction.
In todays episode, Harry was given some words of encouragement from Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) that he took deeply to heart, especially when Phil suggested that anyone who’s crossed their family should be ‘dealt with’.
As Harry began to follow Ravi across the Square, he was spotted by his mum, Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington), who’s suspicions were immediately aroused.
Ravi continued to go about his day, not knowing the imminent danger he was in as Harry stalked him, with his hand clasped tightly around a spanner.
Sensing the time was right, Harry hovered over a kneeling Ravi and raised the spanner high, but before he could bring it down across his enemies skull, a french-tipped hand grabbed Harry’s arm. With the sounds of the Prodigy drowning them out, Nicola ordered Harry to shift, and he followed his fearsome mothers orders.
In the office of Harry’s Barn, Harry lamented that, should he not claim his pound of flesh from Ravi, he fears he might relapse. Though Nicola remained rational initially, she crumbled at the prospect of losing her son back to addiction. As tears flowed, she clutched her boys hands and promised that they would make Ravi pay, but properly, in a way that wouldn’t land them in any trouble. They’d be clever, sly and ensure that they would totally destroy him.

While Harry’s reputation pales in comparison to Ravi’s history of violence and organised crime, Nicola is more than a match for him. Having previously killed a girlfriend of Harry’s and with contacts deep within the underworld, fierce and dangerous Nicola poses an enormous threat to Ravi’s life.
Gifting Ravi a free drink at the New Years Eve event at the club, Nicola plastered on a huge smile, promising ‘no hard feelings’ after everything that happened. While Ravi humbly agreed, Nicola turned to Harry with the two sharing a knowing look.
Is this where the revenge starts? With Ravi set to experience a horrific situation that will lead to dire consequences, will Harry and Nicola oversee his ultimate destruction?
