A woman has been airlifted to hospital after ‘being trapped’ by a tractor in a Yorkshire market town.
Two women were injured when the farming vehicle pulling a trailer full of manure reportedly mounted the pavement in Bridge Street, Helmsley to avoid a car at 12.30pm on Wednesday.
A worker, told the BBC, she had been told the more seriously injured woman had ended up trapped beneath the tractor.
She added: ‘Bridge Street is still closed. A helicopter came earlier to take a woman to hospital.
‘We think a car had pulled up suddenly, which caused a big tractor with a trailer to brake, so it didn’t hit the car.
