Adam Peaty reportedly had a rather brutal way of striking his great aunt and uncle off his wedding guest list.
On Saturday, the gold medallist, 30, wed model and influencer Holly Ramsay, 25, in front of 200 guests at Bath Abbey.
A-listers in attendance included Holly’s dad, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay and his wife Tana, and close friends Sir David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, who were joined by all of their children except Brooklyn.
On Adam’s side, however, the absences were certainly noticeable, with the exception of his 2021 Strictly pals Dan Walker and Sara Davies, with new details now emerging about how exactly his relations were uninvited from the ceremony.
With his mum, Caroline Peaty, allegedly ‘banned’ from the nuptials, it’s claimed Adam sent his great aunt Janet, 73, and uncle Eddie a message mere days before.
A source told The Sun: ‘They got an automated message basically saying they were off the guest list and to respect Adam and Holly’s decision.
‘It was so impersonal and just four days before the big day.’
Janet and Eddie had allegedly already splashed out hundreds of pounds on accommodation, outfits, and wedding gifts when the text came in.
Meanwhile, Adam’s dad, Mark, is thought to have been invited to the ceremony but was instructed that he would have to ‘sit at the back of the church behind the plus ones’.
Consequently, Mark decided not to go.
Adam’s brother, James, 34, was also uninvited, having been arrested after the stag do clan arrived back from Budapest for allegedly sending Adam threats. He was released on bail.
What’s more, Adam’s aunt, Louise, who is Caroline’s sister, made it known how she felt about not receiving an invitation, having sent the swimmer a message of her own, hours before he said ‘I do.’
‘I hope you never suffer the depth of pain you have put your mother through and despite it all she loves you still. Shame on you both. Shame,’ she is said to have told him, adding: ‘Remember on this, your happiest day, and on each anniversary of your happiest day, that you hurt your mum so deeply her soul screams.’
However, Adam had reportedly blocked family messages, so he didn’t receive the text.
Louise has been outspoken in siding with her sister throughout the wedding drama, with Caroline thanking her in a public social media post and declaring her a ‘protector’.
As for her feelings towards her son, Louise has been left devastated by the fallout.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the 59-year-old, who remained at home in Staffordshire on the wedding day, shared: ‘I don’t think they understand how much they have hurt me; it’s as if they have cut my heart out.’
Caroline had also originally vowed to ‘watch from the street’ in somewhat of an act of protest on her son’s special day, but she later stood down after her husband convinced her it’d be too ‘upsetting’.

The only close relation of Adam to attend the wedding was his sister, Bethany, who was a bridesmaid. The three bridesmaids all wore red Victoria Beckham gowns.
And it’s not just his family who have been iced out, with further reports claiming friends, such as fellow gold medallist Michael Gunning, were also uninvited, despite attending the pair’s engagement party.
Michael, who has remained close with Caroline, is said to feel ‘very hurt’ by the situation, especially since he has always been publicly supportive of Adam.
‘Given how close they once were, Michael never would have seen this coming,’ an insider claimed.
On Holly’s side, though, the landscape couldn’t be more different, with Adam’s in-laws expressing nothing but love for him.

Then, in his father-of-the-bride speech, Gordon reportedly made a dig at Adam’s shattered family.
According to The Sun, Gordon said his wife, Tana, ‘will be a good mum to them both’.
The 59-year-old TV cook went on to praise his daughter, calling Adam a ‘lucky man’.
Referencing his own wife again, he said: ‘Look at Tana, and that’s what you have to look forward to.’
Directed at Holly, he then shot back: ‘Shame you don’t have the same.’
Neither Adam nor Holly has addressed the shenanigans clouding their wedding day, but both have changed their names to double-barrelled. Adam’s Instagram username is now @adamramsaypeaty, and Holly’s is @hollyramsaypeaty.
Following the wedding – for which all guests wore wristbands with Adam and Holly’s initials to prevent security breaches – they enjoyed a reception at Kin House in Kington Langley, Wiltshire.
