Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has named his starting line-up for Nigeria’s final Group C match against Uganda at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, with a few notable changes to the side.
Goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has been handed a start ahead of Stanley Nwabali, while Ryan Alebiosu also makes the starting XI as Chelle rotates his squad with qualification to the knockout stage already secured.
Alex Iwobi and Ademola Lookman, both key figures in Nigeria’s campaign so far, have been left on the bench, likely as a precaution with the Super Eagles already through to the Round of 16.
Nigeria will line up with Victor Osimhen leading the attack alongside Paul Onuachu, supported by wide men Moses Simon and Samuel Chukwueze. In midfield, Raphael Onyedika and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru are expected to provide balance and energy, while the defence is anchored by Calvin Bassey and Igoh Ogbu, with Bruno Onyemeachi completing the back line.
Nigeria XI vs Uganda:
Francis Uzoho; Igoh Ogbu, Ryan Alebiosu, Calvin Bassey, Bruno Onyemeachi; Raphael Onyedika, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru; Moses Simon, Samuel Chukwueze; Victor Osimhen, Paul Onuachu.
The Super Eagles go into the encounter seeking a third consecutive win in Group C, having already secured progression to the knockout stage with victories over Tanzania and Tunisia.
