Tottenham’s winger, Brennan Johnson, is set to decide whether he wants to join Crystal Palace after a £35m deal to sign him was agreed between both clubs on Tuesday, ahead of the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old joined Tottenham for £47.5m from Nottingham Forest in 2023 and has scored 27 goals in 107 games for the club, including the Europa League final winner against Manchester United in May. He finished as the club’s top scorer last season with 18 goals in all competitions.
However, he has made only six starts in the Premier League this campaign under new boss Thomas Frank, featuring on both flanks after his starting place in the team was taken by Mohamed Kudus, who joined in a £55m deal this summer from West Ham.
Johnson is set to hold talks over his future in the next 48 hours, amid interest from other Premier League sides, including Bournemouth, who consider him as a potential replacement for Antoine Semenyo. If he eventually leaves Spurs for £35m, he would become the club’s fourth-highest sale in their history, after Harry Kane, Gareth Bale, and Kyle Walker.
Johnson, who was Tottenham’s top scorer last season with 18 goals, gloriously wrote his name in the club’s history by scoring the winner in their Europa League final over Manchester United in Bilbao in May, ending the club’s 17-year wait for a trophy.
