Muscat – The Environment Authority (EA) observed Gulf Wildlife Day on December 30, reaffirming the nation’s dedicated commitment, alongside fellow Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, to the protection of biodiversity and the conservation of natural resources.

This year’s celebrations were held under the theme “A Society in Harmony with Nature for Sustainable Wildlife,” a slogan that underscores the vital necessity of maintaining a balanced relationship between human activity and the natural world while positioning wildlife conservation as a cornerstone of sustainable development and public well-being.

The Authority noted that Oman continues to prioritise environmental stewardship through the execution of national initiatives focused on the protection of endangered species, the management of nature reserves, and the preservation of terrestrial and marine ecosystems. By fostering partnerships between the public sector, private enterprises, and civil society, the Sultanate aims to cultivate a culture of environmental awareness and responsible practice to ensure a sustainable future for the region’s unique wildlife.
