Britney Spears has called out her family for allegedly not inviting her to their Christmas Day celebrations.
‘Merry late Christmas to my beautiful family who have never disrespected me, harmed me, ever done anything completely unacceptable or caused unbelievable trauma, the kind you can’t fix,’ began the sarcastic message posted on her Instagram.
‘To my dear sweet innocent family … so so sorry I was busy this Christmas but I will definitely show up and surprise you soon … I can’t wait ….’
She then gave her seven-year-old niece, Ivey, a special shoutout: ‘Hello, beautiful Ivy … I just want to hold you, my love.’
The message comes after the pop star’s younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, posted a festive photo of herself with her family.
This included her husband Jamie Watson, daughters Maddie, 17, and Ivey, seven, her mother Lynne Spears, and Britney’s 20-year-old son Sean Preston Federline.
People reported that Britney spent Christmas with her other son, Jayden James Federline, 19. The star has just two sons, Sean and Jayden, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Britney and Kevin divorced in 2006, and in 2007 he was granted full custody of their sons.
The Toxic singer has been estranged from her wider family for many years, and particularly since the end of her 13-year conservatorship, which lasted until November 2021.
TMZ reported that Britney’s older son Sean, 20, reportedly had to stay in Louisiana due to a work obligation, which meant he spent the festive season with his aunt, cousins, and grandmother instead.
In January 2022, Britney called out Jamie Lynn after her memoir, Things I Should Have Said, became a bestseller.
‘The timing of your book was unbelievable Jamie Lynn,’ Britney said on social media soon after the story was released.
She reiterated that her ‘whole family’ knew about the abuse of her former conservatorship, despite her sister’s claims that she was in the dark.
Sarcastically, she went on to say, ‘Congrats best seller … I’m not surprised at all. The nerve of you to sell a book now and talk s**t but [you’re] f***ing lying.’
