Air India will restart its non-stop services between Delhi and Rome (Fiumicino) from March 25, 2026, nearly six years after suspending the route due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The airline will operate four weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, using its Boeing 787-8 aircraft with 18 Business Class flat beds and 238 Economy seats. The service aims to strengthen connectivity between India and Italy, while also offering seamless connections from Rome to Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent through Air India’s Delhi hub. Travelers from Italy will benefit from direct access to Delhi and onward connections to destinations such as Bangkok, Colombo, Ho Chi Minh City, Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Phuket, and Singapore. With Rome added, Air India will now serve eight mainland European cities and three UK destinations. Bookings are available across all channels, including the airline’s website, mobile app, airport offices, contact centres, and travel agents worldwide. The route is expected to cater to increasing passenger traffic, supported by a large Indian community in Italy and growing interest among Indian travellers in Italian culture, history, and lifestyle experiences.Flight schedule beginning March 25, 2026PeriodFlightRouteDepartureArrivalMarch 25-27, 2026AI123Delhi-Rome13:1518:00March 25-27, 2026AI122Rome-Delhi19:5009:00 (+1)From March 29, 2026AI123Delhi-Rome13:1518:55From March 29, 2026AI122Rome-Delhi20:5009:00 (+1)“Connecting India to more of the world remains one of our top priorities. India and Italy share deep-rooted commonalities in culture, business and trade, which makes Rome a natural addition to Air India’s expanding network. This non-stop service not only augments direct connectivity between the two capital cities but also offers travellers from Italy greater choice and seamless onward connections via our Delhi hub to vibrant destinations across the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia,” said Nipun Aggarwal, Air India Chief Commercial Officer. “The resumption of Air India’s services to Rome, with direct flights to Delhi, marks a strategically important development that reinforces expectations of continued growth in long-haul markets in 2026. This new service addresses growing demand across key traffic segments, further strengthening economic and cultural ties between Italy and India.” Ivan Bassato, Chief Aviation Officer at Aeroporti di Roma, added.
