Oman’s airports receive 12mn passengers; hotels guest rise to 1.89mn

Muscat – Oman recorded growth in both air passenger traffic and hotel sector performance in 2025 till the end of October, reflecting steady growth in travel and tourism activity, according to preliminary data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information.

Passenger traffic through Oman’s airports – Muscat, Salalah, Suhar and Duqm – rose 1.6% to 12,353,007 passengers in 2025 till the end of October, compared to 12,153,212 passengers during the same period in 2024.

Indian nationals topped the list of passengers using Muscat International Airport in October 2025, with 170,313 travellers. Omanis followed with 112,834 passengers.

Hotels rated between three- and five-stars recorded a 10.3% rise in guest numbers in 2025 to 1,895,159 till the end of October.

Total hotel revenues increased 19.4% to RO222.149mn, up from RO186.098mn in the same period of 2024. Occupancy rates rose 53.6%, compared to 47.2% a year earlier.

By nationality, guests from Oceania recorded the highest growth at 40.5%. Omani guest numbers grew 6.9% to 714,128.
