Pete Davidson has welcomed his first child – also revealing her name in a sweet tribute to his late dad, who died in 9/11.
The Saturday Night Live comedian, 32, and his girlfriend Elsie Hewitt, 29, welcomed their daughter on December 12, announcing the news of her arrival on social media overnight.
Sharing a series of photos, the couple wrote: ‘Our perfect angel girl arrived 12/12/2025. Scottie Rose Hewitt Davidson ♥️.’
‘My best work yet, I am absolutely overflowing with love and gratitude and disbelief,’ Elsie added.
Meanwhile Pete jokingly declared: ‘Wu Tang forever.’
In the photos the couple shared with their daughter, they placed a white heart emoji over her face to protect her privacy.
Scottie is named after Pete’s late father, Scott Matthew Davidson, a New York City firefighter who died while responding to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
He was last seen running up the stairs of the Marriott World Trade Center in Downtown Manhattan just before the building was destroyed when the Twin Towers collapsed.
Pete was just seven years old at the time and previously told The New York Times that the grief he faced was ‘overwhelming’.
The comedian’s daughter’s name also has a family connection too – with Rose being Elsie’s middle name as well.
Pete and Elsie were first linked in March, with the actress then confirming in July they were expecting their first child together.
Posting a string of photos with Pete on Instagram, Elsie – best known for appearing in TV shows including Industry – also included footage of their hospital scan.
‘Welp now everyone knows we had sex,’ she captioned the post.
At the time, a source close to the couple told People: ‘They’re both very nurturing people and are very, very happy together and to be starting a family.
‘They’ve been sharing privately with loved ones, and it’s a really sweet time after everything Pete has overcome. He’s so excited. He’s always wanted to be a dad.’
A few months later the publication also reported that he was ‘really embracing’ this next chapter. ‘He talks about how this is the most meaningful chapter of his life yet, and he’s really embracing it,’ a source said.
In recent years Pete had come under the spotlight for his high-profile relationships.
After previously being engaged to Ariana Grande, he went on to date Kim Kardashian, Kaia Gerber, and Phoebe Dynevor.
However, in 2023 he pushed back against the attention placed on his love life, which he said wasn’t really ‘that interesting’.
‘I think what happened was, I became more known before the work was there,’ he said on the Real Ones podcast.
‘But I was always working. Look, I’m in my 20s and I’ve dated people and for some reason that is very crazy and interesting to people.
‘I don’t think it’s that interesting. I’ve been in showbusiness for half my life almost, for like 14, 15 years, and on a national TV show. And in 12 years, I’ve dated like, 10 people, I don’t really think that’s that crazy. But to some people, it seems very interesting.’
