Elon Musk-owned Starlink has signed its first office space in northern India with premium flexible workspace provider CorporatEdge, said two people aware of the development. The 50-seater office has been leased at Delhi’s World Trade Center in Nauroji Nagar, where US-based OpenAI has also signed leased its first office space in India.Earlier this month, Starlink listed full residential pricing on its local website, suggesting an imminent launch in India but later said it was a glitch. As companies such as OpenAI and Starlink set up their first offices in India, they are opting for a Delhi address to keep staff close to the power corridors of the capital, the people said.“These firms are also seeking operational flexibility and premium services. Managed office providers offering high-end spaces with hospitality-style services are the preferred choice,” said one of the people cited above.Starlink could not be reached for comment, while CorporatEdge declined to comment.CorporatEdge, which recently leased 51,000 sq ft at Godrej GCR in Gurugram, is expected to close the current fiscal year with an operational and signed portfolio of 590,000 sq ft.The company has also leased 36,000 sq ft in Dubai, marking its international expansion. In November, the Maharashtra government signed a memorandum of understanding with Starlink to bring satellite internet services to government bodies, rural areas and key public infrastructure. However, the commercial rollout of Starlink’s services in India has not yet been announced. According to property consultancy CBRE, India’s flexible office stock is expected to grow to 125 million sq ft by 2027 from 80 million sq ft in 2024, with the Delhi-National Capital Region accounting for nearly a quarter of the increase.Credit rating agency Icra has also highlighted a major shift in occupier behaviour, with large enterprises driving 55–60% of demand—a sharp.
