David Harbour has pulled out of attending a Stranger Things event tonight.
The Jim Hopper actor, 50, was scheduled to be attending Stranger Things: The Final Season Celebration at New York’s Paley Center tonight, but his name is now missing from the event page.
A spokesperson for the venue told People that the Violent Night actor will ‘not be present due to a scheduling conflict.’
The publication also reports that Eleven star Millie Bobby Brown has pulled out of the event while recovering from an injury.
Harbour’s absence comes after TMZ reported the actor was involved in an altercation at an Encitas gastropub.
It is alleged that the actor snatched a fan’s hat and attempted to run away with it from Encitas Ale House. Harbour has not addressed the incident publicly.
The publication claims that a video of the incident shows Harbour entering the pub before leaving a few moments later with a white cap, saying ‘C’mon, dude, f*****g get me.’
A second person then allegedly leaves the establishment, saying ‘What the f**k did I do to you, dude?’
After several people are said to have left the bar – with a female voice saying ‘Don’t get into a fight’ – the patron returns with a white hat.
TMZ said that a physical altercation is not thought to have occurred.
Harbour has been at the centre of several headlines this year following the release of his ex-wife Lily Allen’s latest album, West End Girl.
The lyrics chronicle the breakdown of a marriage, including allegations of cheating with a woman given the moniker ‘Madeline’ on the record.
What did Lily Allen appear to say about David Harbour on West End Girl?
In West End Girl, which many people have interpreted as referring to her relationship with Harbour, though neither of them has commented on those claims, Lily appeared to reveal that they were in some version of an open relationship, but accused David of pushing the boundaries of this by cheating on her.
‘We had an arrangement/ Be discreet and don’t be blatant/ It had to be with strangers,’ she sings, before describing her discovery of a woman who she refers to as Madeline.
While Lily previously said she’d like to have children with David, in the album – which was met with rave reviews – the star sings about a man considering getting a vasectomy, as she wonders whether he’d got a woman pregnant that’s not her.
She also sings in Pussy Palace about someone who ‘found a shoebox full of handwritten letters /From brokenhearted women wishing you could have been better’ in an apartment, and she refers to a double life.
Lily also sings about finding a bag full of ’sex toys, butt plugs, and lube inside’.
American costume designer Natalie Tippett stepped forward as the woman behind the moniker after reportedly meeting Harbour while shooting the 2021 Netflix film We Have A Ghost.
Tippett has since lashed out at the singer, denying claims that she had a three-year affair with the actor and revealing she has received hateful messages as a result of the album.
Harbour and Allen met on the dating app Raya, marrying in Las Vegas in 2020.
After months of speculation, in February this year, the couple confirmed that they were divorcing.
David has not publicly commented on the accusations that he was unfaithful to Allen during their marriage.
Elsewhere, it was claimed that Harbour had faced ‘bullying and harrassment’ complaints from his Stranger Things co-star Brown before filming for the final season of the Netflix show began.
Neither Brown nor Harbour have addressed the claims publicly.
The Mail on Sunday reported that David faced an internal enquiry after Millie allegedly complained about his behaviour towards her with ‘pages and pages of accusations’.
It was claimed the complaint was filed ‘before they started shooting the last season’, while ‘the investigation went on for months’.
A report in Variety has now claimed that there was an investigation into the bullying and harassment complaint against David and that it was resolved.
Co-creators and showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer were asked about the bullying claims at the premiere of Stranger Things season five.
Ross told The Hollywood Reporter: ‘Obviously, you understand I can’t get into personal onset matters, but I will say we’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family, and we deeply care about them.
‘So, you know, nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy.’
