There’s nothing better than tearing open a packet of crisps after lunch, especially when there’s a new flavour to try.

Maybe you’ve been obsessed with the Walkers new limited-edition Beef Wellington flavour, or its Christmas classic Sensations Glazed Honey Ham.

Or it might’ve been the new Nik Naks which have been a lunchtime staple since 1982, and now come as Twisters – the same crisps shaped to look like a whirling, twisting tornado

But if you’re more of a Skips fan, indulging in that Prawn Cocktail goodness, there’s another ‘phenomenal’ flavour of the tongue tingling snack returning to the UK.

Salt & Vinegar Skips are hitting the shelves in major supermarkets for £1.35 per pack as of March 2, 2026, Metro can confirm.

The news first surfaced on Johns_snackreviews on Instagram who posted the update on December 17.

He wrote: ‘New/returning Skips Salt & Vinegar! Coming soon to the UK.’

Skips fans are elated, writing: ‘Oh yesss I’m sure I’ve got packet from last time they was released.’

Another on Facebook said: ‘I know someone who would devour these.’

‘Holy moly,’ added one, while others dubbed them a ‘phenomenal flavour’ and said they ‘can’t wait’.

The flavour reportedly hit the shelves for the first time back in 2016, and disappeared sometime after, but Metro has reached out the company for clarification.

Skips were first launched by KP Snacks in 1974, known then as ‘Sweet and Sour Skips’, and quickly became known for their light melty texture and staple shell shape.

The brand has sales of £22M every year with some four million households being regular Skips buyers – apparently it equates to three packs bought every minute.

More news in the world of crisps

The snack giant has been busy in 2025 with various launched of its new crisp flavours.

First it was McCoy’s adding a new combination in the form of Hot n’ Spicy, which came with a fiery kick. They landed in stores January 20 in a nice spicy start to the new year.

Then came Hula Hoops Smoky Bacon flavour in March, before Nik Naks Tangy n’ Cheesy followed a month later.

The nobbly, crunchy corn sticks were dubbed a ‘flavour you won’t want to miss’.

In big news, Discos Pickled Onion also returned in August, after last being seen on the shelves back in 2005. The legendary tangy picked onion crisps had a real ‘zing’ to them, and the fan-favourite was well received.

One fan even said: ‘These were THE best crisps to ever exist. Point blank. Period.’
