Princess Kate is reportedly set to play a major role in deciding the futures of several members of the royal family — including Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. It comes amid expectations that she and Prince William are preparing to make ‘significant changes to the monarchy’, with the pair both sharing their vision for modernising the monarchy. In recent times, both the Prince and Princess of Wales have spoken about the need to make the royal family feel more relatable to the public and connect with younger generations. ‘I want to create a world in which my son is proud of what we do. A world and a job that actually does impact people’s lives for the better,’ Prince William told Eugene Levy during the actor’s The Reluctant Traveler TV show. (Picture: Getty Images)
As for Kate, a source recently told Heat that the 43-year-old is ‘stepping up’ to be Queen — a role that involves ‘streamlining’ the royal family. The insider said: ‘William is very focused on accountability and Kate is very much of the same mind. She believes every senior royal ought to show exactly what they are doing, why it matters, and how it helps the public.’ They added that Kate is keen to ‘streamline their workload’ and only focus on meaningful endeavours, suggesting: ‘If an engagement does not support real charitable impact, it gets cut.’ (Picture: Getty Images)

A recent example of this is Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s exile. Formerly known as Prince Andrew, Duke of York, the 65-year-old was stripped of his royal titles by his older brother, King Charles III, and evicted from his Royal Lodge home. The process, which started in October, has also seen Andrew losing his last remaining military title earlier this week. (Picture: AP)
A source told People that while King Charles initiated the steps, Kate was an influential figure behind closed doors. They said: ‘There would have been a push from Camilla and Catherine, and there was pressure from William, who would not want to inherit the headache. It was a family decision.’ (Picture: Getty Images)
Andrew’s situation has naturally led to speculation about his daughters, Princess Beatrice, 37, and Princess Eugenie, 35, and their futures within the royal family. While the sisters’ titles remain safe (thanks to the 1917 King George V’s Letters Patent and their grandmother being the late Queen Elizabeth II), a source told Heat that when William and Kate become King and Queen they will be ‘letting people go and shaving off certain expenses or benefits that various family members get.’ (Picture: Getty Images)

The source said that Kate’s role in these matters will be of utmost importance, specifically when they ‘require a level of sensitivity.’ The insider noted that, while she has a ‘gentle, peaceful public image,’ she’s ‘nobody’s pushover.’ In this way, they said Kate is ‘uniquely gifted.’ (Picture: Getty Images)
‘She’s incredibly savvy and she’s not afraid to make firm decisions when needed,’ the source added. ‘She understands that leadership requires a certain ruthlessness, not unkindness, but clarity. She doesn’t shy away from that; she sees it as her duty to stay strong for the monarchy.’ (Picture: Getty Images)
Similarly, Hilary Fordwich, a royal commentator, recently spoke with Fox News Digital about William and Kate’s plans to ‘mould’ the monarchy. Stating that William is ‘determined to modernise’ the institution, she added that, given the royal couple’s ‘immense popularity,’ the public can expect Kate to ‘play a vital role.’ Especially as ‘their children grow and are launched.’ She added: ‘We should expect her to become ever more influential behind the scenes, even with King Charles III, as they have a rather wonderful rapport strengthened by their shared health crisis.’ (Picture: Getty Images)
