This exceptional Zilla Parishad school in Hiwali, a tribal hamlet in Tryambakeshwar taluka of Nashik, runs 12 hours a day, 365 days a year, without vacations or weekends. Modelled as a ‘tourism school’, it blends academics with vocational training in agriculture, Warli painting, and computing. Students travel up to 22 km to attend and display extraordinary skills, including ambidextrous writing, reciting the Constitution, advanced math, and strong English reading abilities. With zero dropouts and halted migration, the school has transformed the community. However, water scarcity and electricity outages threaten its progress, prompting urgent appeals for solar power and a small dam.
