Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) arrived in Emmerdale earlier this year and was introduced as a farmer working on neighbouring land to Butlers.

Small moments here and there left us wondering if Celia was hiding something from the residents she’d interact with – but no one expected her secret to be what it was.

Celia is running an operation on her farm that sees her take advantage of vulnerable adults. The storyline so far has looked at modern day slavery, drug dealing, and being sold to older men for sex.

We know that Celia is leaving Emmerdale because she is a villain, which means her downfall has to happen eventually.

Up Next

Given what we know so far about the police failing to compile enough evidence against Celia, there isn’t a high likelihood a prison cell is waiting for her just yet.

It suggests that someone could murder Celia – but who?

Let’s take a look.

Marlon

Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) will do anything to protect his family. He currently feels trapped and as though there really isn’t any way out of the nightmare Celia has created, but is he capable of murder, and dealing with the aftermath of it?

Bear

Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) is a vulnerable old man at the moment. As a result of manipulation, neglect and an addiction to some medication that Ray keeps giving Bear, the former pro-wrestler is a shell of his past self.

Following Anya’s death, the Bear of old resurfaced when he pinned Ray against a wall in a state of emotional rage. Could the same thing happen again if Bear suddenly realises what Celia and Ray have been doing to him and the other slaves?

Or, if Bear begins to accept that he’s being exploited, will he be the person to tell the police and bring Celia down?

Rhona

Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) is one of those characters who doesn’t seem like they’re capable of a lot but when pushed to the edge, anything is possible. She is fiercely protective of her children, and will do whatever it takes to ensure they’re not in danger from Celia and Ray.

Could Rhona kill Celia if any of her children’s lives are put in jeopardy?

April

Vulnerable April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) attacked an older man called Callum earlier this year, when he attempted to assault her. Seconds after hitting Callum with a bottle, April watched as blood started pouring from his head. She then told Ray and Celia that she killed a man, but the duo have failed to tell her that he is actually alive.

These scenes proved that April is strong enough to fight back and defend herself, which means she’s become a likely candidate when it comes to who could destroy Celia.

Alternatively, could April risk her future for the sake of her family and tell the police everything about Celia, and how she’s been dealing for her?

Ray

Ray desperately wants a new life with Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy). The character was found on the streets by Celia when he was a child. She adopted him, and raised him in her dangerous and dark world.

While Ray has committed plenty of horrendous crimes, he’s also a victim of Celia’s grooming – and this is something he’s coming to realise.

When Celia tells Ray that they’re leaving the area in upcoming episodes, he doesn’t want to go. He’s enjoying his romance with Laurel and doesn’t want to leave her, so will Ray stand up to his mum at last?

Dylan

Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) was recently put in hospital after Ray ran him over. With Celia’s exit looming, the prospect of him murdering her during his recovery is slim, but that doesn’t mean he won’t report her to the police.

Paddy

Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) remains unaware of what’s really going on with Bear at the moment but when Celia’s secrets are revealed, he will have to deal with the fact two of his loved ones, and his best friend’s daughter, have all fallen victim to her horror.

Local vet Paddy doesn’t seem like the type to commit murder, but he will have an awful lot to try and process when Celia’s world falls apart.

He’s not very high on our list when it comes to the person who will take Celia down – but anything is possible in soapland.
