Corriedale has hidden a massive clue as to who may be set to meet their maker in the latest trailer, but did you spot it?

We’re getting ever closer to the major crossover event that will intertwine the universes of Emmerdale and Coronation Street forevermore, and it’s fair to say that this new trailer has got us pretty excited.

On January 5, 2026, locals from the cobbles and the Dales will find themselves in deadly peril on a dark country road, as they’re caught up in a multi-vehicle pile up.

A huge explosion rocks the scene and the fight is on to save friends, loved ones and strangers alike – but will everyone make it out alive?

Possibly not, if the hospital scenes in the trailer are anything to go by.

We see Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) letting out a gut-wrenching scream while being comforted by Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), while Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) sits anxiously in a corridor.

Meanwhile, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) warns of multiple casualties being critically injured at the crash site, while paramedic Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) and trainee doctor Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) try their best to help.

One thing that caught our attention, however, was a brief shot of a man in a hospital bed.

On the wall above the bed, the name of the patient was written on a whiteboard, and while we couldn’t make out the full thing, for the briefest moment we could tell that the surname was Tate.

So, using our powers of deduction, we can only assume that the man in the bed is Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) himself.

This wouldn’t be the first time Joe has had a scrape with death, having been presumed dead once before.

Joe was punched by Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) during a fight over his daughter, Debbie, who Joe was engaged to, and hit his head on a rock when he fell.

Cain was left believing that he’d killed Joe for the next few months, unaware that he had actually fled abroad.

This time it doesn’t look like the person in hospital will be set to sun it up overseas, so could this really be the end of Joe Tate?

Or is there another mystery Tate caught up in the disaster? Could we be set to meet a long-lost relative?
