Muscat – The National Autism Centre has organised a musical theatre programme in cooperation with Royal Opera House Muscat aimed at developing the skills of children with autism spectrum disorder and supporting their social inclusion.
Being held from December 14 to 18, the programme features Bradipo Teatro, an interactive theatre troupe from the Republic of San Marino. The sessions combine music, movement and interaction to help participants improve communication, self-expression and confidence in a structured and supportive environment.
The international trainers and artists of Bradipo Teatro specialise in interactive theatre and artistic creativity. The troupe also conducted training sessions for staff at the National Autism Centre, sharing international best pra- ctices in using the arts as a tool for rehabilitation and support.

Dr Nadia al Ajmi, Director of the centre, said the initiative reflects its ongoing partnership with Royal Opera House Muscat. The programme supports the centre’s efforts to promote effective social inclusion and provide meaningful experiences for children with autism.
She added that the initiative goes beyond artistic performance, using music and theatre to develop skills, empower individuals and encourage positive interaction with the wider community. Nadia noted that cooperation with cultural institutions highlights the role of the arts in supporting individuals with autism in the sultanate.
