This Christmas Emily Mai will huddle round a twinkling tree with her two children tearing open their presents, while sexting anywhere from 40 to 200 men.
The kids will be blissfully unaware of course, preoccupied with the excitement of Santa’s deliveries and half eaten cookies by the fireplace, as the OnlyFans creator stirs her tea and sends John from Brisbane a pre-made porn video on her laptop.
Emily, 36, has spent every Christmas like this in Melbourne since she became a mother, messaging her subscribers in the quiet moments and raking in about £20,000 per month.
‘I let them open a few presents, and then we have a break,’ she tells Metro. ‘They play with their toys. I make a cup of tea and answer their messages. I don’t want these men to feel neglected on Christmas day.’
In fact, in the nearly seven years she’s been an OnlyFans model, Emily has never taken a day off, even sending men explicit sexts while in labour. She’s known for making Asian pregnancy content, and now her subscribersenjoy her curves post-childbirth.
‘There are guys who are married and have kids but just need a moment to themselves on Christmas morning,’ she explains.
‘Then there’s the single guys in their fifties with adult kids who live in another country and aren’t visiting for the holidays. They’re just lonely at the most wonderful time of the year – that’s why I make an effort to talk to them when my kids don’t need me.’
It was the same when Emily used to work at a strip club in 2014, which opened on Christmas day. ‘So many guys would come in because they just didn’t have anyone,’ she adds.

While the OnlyFans model spends Christmas eve alone with her children, watching a movie, drinking hot chocolate, and selling custom porn videos on her laptop where she strips off red velvet and white lingerie, her family does visit on the 25th.
‘I’m from a traditional Asian family, so when they come for Christmas, my mum pretends she doesn’t know what I do for work,’ Emily says. ‘None of them want to imagine me in that way and pretend my sex work doesn’t happen.
‘Sex is really taboo in the Asian community so it’s swept under the rug at Christmas dinner. It’s tricky, I do feel uncomfortable mentioning it to them, but it would also be nice to tell them I’ve had a hard day. I don’t want to fight with them or rub it in their face.’
Emily financially supports her family and her children, ‘setting them up for a comfortable future’, so she has no plans to stop her OnlyFans work just because they don’t approve.
This awkwardness is also felt by fellow OF creator Alix Lynx at Christmas, when she travels with her mini Australian Shepherd puppy Aspen, to stay near family in upstate New York.
‘I rent an off-grid Airbnb near to my mum’s house with a hot tub and sauna, then I spend Christmas eve and day with them before heading home to get back to work,’ Alix, 36, tells Metro.
‘My family know what I do but we don’t talk about it. I’m the one paying for everyone’s dinner when we go out, so they know where the money comes from.
‘I’d never bring it up at the Christmas dinner table.’
She initially began in the adult industry in 2012 as a webcam model, before filming studio porn from 2014 to 2020, which is when she began filming subscription based content, instructing men to masturbate while she performed sex acts.

‘I’ll schedule posts to go out and send subscribers pre-prepared content before heading over to my family’s house,’ the New Yorker says. ‘Then we’ll have a big brunch and open gifts until early afternoon.
‘I’ll respond to more messages in the evening, but otherwise I just want to chill out.’
And her festive season is very lucrative, not only from the six figure-a-month salary she earns, but from fans buying her items off her Amazon wishlist.
‘People are in the holiday spirit so I get tips and in the past I’ve had a lot of great gifts,’ she says. ‘I remember when I moved into my apartment in 2017 and one guy bought me a giant TV, bookshelves, and a coffee table – that was so helpful because it was before I made the money I do now.’
