Wolves sack Vitor Pereira after winless start
Wolves have officially parted ways with Vitor Pereira after a disastrous start to the Premier League season, with the club languishing at the bottom of the table and failing to win any of their first ten games. The decision comes just weeks after Pereira was handed a contract extension, highlighting the sense of chaos and desperation at Molineux. Many see the sacking as inevitable given the results, but there's also a sense that deeper issues within the club's structure and recruitment have played a major role in the current crisis.

Surprising given they gave him that new contract. Not been given much to work with, dysfunctional club
-
Looked like one of those runs where plain bad luck started to morph into genuinely bad performances. It's a shame because the team had played some lovely stuff under Pereira last season.
-
I feel sorry for the manager actually. They have been playing jenga with that squad for years and probably should have gone down the last few years if not for the promoted teams being so poorly prepared. You can’t stand still in the prem and you can’t be selling off that level of player every season and not replacing
Fans and pundits question Wolves' survival chances
The mood around Wolves is bleak, with fans and observers alike doubting whether any new manager can rescue the club from relegation. The squad is widely seen as lacking quality and cohesion, and the fixture list ahead looks brutal. Many believe the problems run much deeper than the head coach, pointing to years of poor recruitment and a lack of clear direction from the club’s hierarchy. The consensus is that Wolves are in for a long, hard fight to avoid the drop, and even that might not be enough.
-
They're pretty much dead and buried already. It's really gone under the radar how completely terrible their start to the season has been. 2 points in 10 games after playing all the promoted teams is diabolical. They haven't even played most of the "good" teams yet - Chelsea, Palace, Villa, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United.
-
Honest to god it might already be too late they look just a disaster I don't see any manager getting that squad out of this hole tbh, still very obviously the right call
-
Thank the Lord. Our problems lie far deeper than the manager, but he was terrible.
Contract extension and club leadership under fire
The timing of Pereira’s sacking has left many scratching their heads, especially after the club recently extended his contract. This move is being widely criticized as a sign of poor leadership and financial mismanagement, with fans frustrated at the prospect of paying out another hefty compensation package. The search for a new manager is complicated by a lack of appealing candidates and the club’s current predicament, fueling further skepticism about the decision-making at the top.

What was the point of extending his contract a month ago then?
-
Missed the Dyche boat. There really aren't a lot of good managers available atm, so it'll be interesting to see who they go for.
-
Odds on them appointing a Portuguese manager next?
