Springfield arrives in Fortnite
The arrival of Springfield as a playable map in Fortnite has sparked a wave of nostalgia and excitement. Many are eager to explore iconic locations from The Simpsons, with some even considering reinstalling the game just for this crossover. The attention to detail and the novelty of a full Springfield map have been widely praised, and even those who aren't regular Fortnite players are tempted to jump in for the experience.
-
I haven't watched a Simpsons episode for maybe 15 years, only played Fortnite like 5 times max. But this, this looks fucking amazing.
-
Fortnite has seriously become the greatest MUGEN game ever made. Like what do you mean a whole season is going to be a 1 for 1 recreation of The Simpsons? I love it.
-
I am of two minds on this. Mainly I love seeing it all recreated in Fortnite even if I have never touched the game. If anything this might convince me to try it. It also makes me sad that we haven’t had a good Simpsons video game in how long now? Wish a studio like Nightdive got the chance to remaster Hit and Run.
Nostalgia and excitement for the crossover
The Simpsons-themed season has hit a sweet spot for fans of both franchises, with the animated intro and playful references drawing widespread appreciation. The nostalgia factor is strong, and players are eager to see how the collaboration impacts gameplay, especially with hopes for unique loot and silly mechanics. The lighthearted tone of the season is being embraced as a refreshing change.

I got a big smile on my face watching the cartoon they did for the season. I watched Simpsons all the time growing up. The nostalgia was intense. I'm excited to see the lootpool too. I loved the Star Wars season for a complete loot overhaul, and hope this season does something similar. I like getting a little silly for a season.
-
Lololol at Bart kicking Homer out of the circle. This is really cool. I like the remixed intro song.
-
I'm not into Fortnite - or BR in general - but it's pretty cool what they did here. It's probably fun to discover Springfield in-game.
Live event and mini-episode reactions
The live event and mini-episode format received mixed but mostly positive feedback. Many appreciated the creative approach, with some surprised by the depth and narrative setup. The promise of more shorts throughout the season has fans looking forward to a full-length Simpsons episode, blending Fortnite storytelling with classic Simpsons humor.
-
I was surprised when it didn't just end after the couch gag, very nice surprise
-
It wasn't really an event it was just a mini episode explaining what this season was going to be and set up
-
FYI, there’s apparently going to be at least three more of these shorts coming out as the Season goes. Together they’ll add up into one full-length episode.
Whether you’re a longtime Simpsons fan or a Fortnite regular, this crossover is stirring up plenty of conversation and nostalgia. Jump into Springfield and share your thoughts with the community—there’s never been a better time to join the discussion on Reddit.
