Detroiter accused of multiple car break-ins in West Bloomfield; large assortment of stolen property recovered

A Detroiter is facing charges for allegedly breaking into multiple vehicles in West Bloomfield Township and stealing a large amount of property including dozens of credit and debit cards, a firearm, cell phones and more.

Wesley Brandus Tabor, 27, is held in the Oakland County Jail with bond set at $1 million cash or surety, with no 10% provision. He’s charged with breaking into a vehicle to steal property valued at $1,000 to less than $20,000, larceny of a firearm, and stealing/retaining financial devices.

According to West Bloomfield police, an investigation into reports of several cars broken into on Feb. 13 led to Tabor, described as a “known suspect.” A search of Tabor’s home and the vehicle he had been driving at the time of his arrest turned up a large amount of stolen property, including:

• 75 credit cards
• 12 driver’s licenses
• 1 firearm
• 1 vehicle
• 4 social security cards
• 1 passport
• 1 credit card reader
• 10 wallets
• 2 vehicle scanners
• multiple phones and electronic devices
• multiple sets of car keys
• 2 stolen license plates
• large amount of cash
• multiple Michigan Lottery instant tickets

Police said Tabor is believed to be connected to several crimes in multiple cities and counties in metro Detroit/southeastern Michigan.

As an investigation continues, anyone who has further information on the break-ins or who knows the possible owners of the recovered property is asked to call Detective Adriana Peruzzi at 248-975-8998.

Tabor’s next court appearance is scheduled for March 24 for a probable cause conference before 48th District Judge Kimberly Small.
