A wind advisory, with gusts of up to 45 miles per hour, is in effect for all of southeast Michigan until 8 p.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
Southern winds between 20 and 30 miles per hour are expected to make driving difficult for high-profile vehicles. Power outages and downed tree limbs are also possible and unsecured light objects could be damaged, the weather service said.
The weather service also said scattered storms are possible throughout the afternoon and late evening on Saturday. If they happen, storms could become severe and bring wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour or an isolated, weak tornado, according to the weather service.
A gale warning is in effect for the Detroit River and Lake St Clair until 10 p.m., with the strongest winds and waves expected around 11 a.m. A gale warning is also in effect for the coasts of The Thumb region, including Saginaw Bay, until 10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
