A new year of grand slam tennis gets underway with the Australian Open as Jannik Sinner and Madison Keys look to retain their titles.

Sinner triumphed over Alexander Zverev to win his second successive Aussie Open 12 months ago, while Keys produced an upset victory Aryna Sabalenka to claim her maiden grand slam.

Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic are amongst those looking to dethrone Sinner, with the Italian seeking to become just the second man in the Open era, after Djokovic, to win three Australian Open singles titles in a row.

And there is plenty of history on the line for Alcaraz, too, with the Spaniard hoping to become the youngest player to complete the career grand slam with victory in Melbourne.

On the women’s side, Iga Swiatek could also complete the career grand slam, having picked up the Wimbledon title over the summer.

Coco Gauff is also amongst the favourites, with the World No4 looking to add to the US Open and French Open titles she won in 2023 and 2025 respectively.

But Sabalenka is much fancied to win her third title Down Under in four years, and warmed up for the tournament with victory at the Brisbane International.

Ahead of the Australian Open, here’s everything you need to know, including how to watch the action on TV and live stream and the round-by-round schedule.
