An investigation into an alleged targeted shooting is under way after a home in Sydney's west was sprayed with bullets overnight.
Police were called to a home in Guildford West at about 12.30am today after reports a number of shots had been fired.
Three people – two women, aged 45 and 23, and a seven-year-old child – were inside but were not injured.

It is understood the target of the shooting, an alleged member of the Alameddine crime network, was not at home.
A white hatchback was reportedly seen leaving the scene shortly after.
However, hours later the same hatchback, a Mazda, was seen parking on James Street in Guilford, with the driver getting out and setting it on fire.
He stopped to video the inferno, then fled.
Firefighters responded to the fire, and were able to put it out.

The blaze reportedly woke neighbours up, who were shocked at the scene.
"I was very, very worried," Tony, a neighbour, said.
"It was leaking petrol, and the footpaths were burning."
A gun was seized from the burnt-out car and is being tested.
Detective Inspector Ricki Lindner said the occupants of the home were "quite rattled".
"It's not a nice thing to have occurred to them and it's outrageous that this sort of thing is happening in the community," Lindner said.
Lindner said police believe the incident was targeted.

Police believe that person was also the owner of a barber shop in Merrylands that was firebombed earlier this year.
Lindner said police are taking this and other shootings like it, very seriously.
"It's brazen, it's blatant, it's dangerous and the community and police won't tolerate it," she said.
"Police take this sort of behaviour, this brazen behaviour, very seriously."

She said it was "incredibly lucky" nobody was harmed.
Specialist police are examining the scene and are yet to determine the number of shots fired.
Police have established multiple crime scenes and an investigation into the two incidents, including whether they are linked, is underway.
Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers.
