This is the moment Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey) attempts to rescue Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) from a dangerous situation in upcoming Hollyoaks scenes.
Ste, as viewers know, has been the target of son Lucas (Oscar Curtis), who has been abusing him for months.
The situation escalated further when Lucas uncovered the shocking truth that Ste had been sleeping with Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass), which prompted him to seek revenge.
Earlier this month, the teen poisoned his dad. He also lashed out and attacked Dillon, who wound up in hospital as a result.
Realising that Lucas’ violence had gone too far, Ste told the police the truth about how his son had been abusing him, which ultimately led to Lucas’ arrest.
After being released from prison, the young chef finds support from Rex, who offers him a bed at the garage. Lucas is grateful but it soon comes to light that he’s still not over his dad’s betrayal.
As Rex urges Lucas to make amends with his dad, Ste reveals that he’s not ready to see his son just yet.
Lucas, meanwhile, visits Dillon at the hospital and, in subsequent scenes, he comes face-to-face with his terrified father.
Ste does his best to keep Lucas calm, as he’s quizzed on the affair with Dillon.
Rex cottons on to the fact that Ste is in grave danger and swoops into action, having uncovered the disturbing contents of Lucas’ notepad, which he shares with Leela Dexter (Kirsty-Leigh Porter).
Dramatic and intense scenes follow as Leela joins both Rex and Dillon in a desperate bid to find Ste before it’s too late. In new pictures shared with Metro, Rex kicks the door of the Lomax residence in.
