The parents of 16-year-old Adam Raine say in his final weeks of life, the ChatGPT artificial intelligence chatbot had become a substitute for human companionship. They are suing the company behind ChatGPT, OpenAI, and its CEO Sam Altman, saying they bear responsibility for their son’s death. OpenAI says in part, “we’re working to make ChatGPT more supportive in moments of crisis.” NBC News’ Laura Jarrett reports.
