I do not think you understand my viewpoint. I have seen it in person. Children abuse one another over clothing. It is not obvious to me, that the wearing of uniforms is “merely a reinforcement of authority.” Actually, the exercise of authority is less often necessary when uniforms are worn. In my experience, the wearing of uniforms improves the educational atmosphere, by eliminating one of the biggest causes for disruption. Children, in other words, learn more, and learn better, when they wear uniforms.
