I agree in principle.
But if we’re going to have Nuremburg-type trials, then they have to be genuine trials this time – not the sham ‘prosecute a few of the underlings and one or two disposable big names, while we arrange for the expedious escape of the majority of the senior figures’ type of circus that we saw last time.
Also, the penalties have to be serious enough to send a shiver down the collective spines of all the other wankers out there making a profit from our suffering – ranging (I would suggest) from execution to life imprisonment.
Not much of a range, I’ll grant you. But then the murder of millions of people should carry such penalties, and they should be carrie out – no lengthy appeals from clever, expensive lawyers. Give them three months post-sentence to make a convincing appeal. Then, if unsuccessful, carry out the sentence.
No exceptions.
Except we know that will never happen. These criminals have all the money in the world and everybody has a price. They will walk away with liberty and profits intact. Just like they always do.
