Clayton Kershaw might not have a “normal offseason” compared to the last 18 years of his life, but it appears as if he’ll be back in baseball soon — this time, as a studio analyst for NBC Sports.

Following multiplereports suggesting Kershaw could join a national studio show in 2026, Front Office Sports’ Ryan Glasspiegel reported Wednesday that NBC and Clayton Kershaw are nearing a deal for the future Hall of Fame pitcher to have a role in the network’s MLB studio coverage.

Kershaw, who retired after the Los Angeles Dodgers won the 2025 World Series, is a future Hall of Famer and considered one of the best pitchers of his generation. He retired with one MVP award, three Cy Young Awards, and 11 All-Star Game appearances in an 18-year career, all in Los Angeles.

Kershaw has spoken often about his desire to spend more time with his family in his first year out of baseball. He and his wife, Ellen, welcomed their fifth child in December.

Andrew Marchand of The Athletic previously reported that Kershaw “would likely work select events if a deal comes to fruition” with NBC.

While the scope of the new gig is not yet known, it appears to be a question of when, not if, Kershaw will be on screen again.
